Proposal – Offer to the Ministry of Health for the inclusion of the Clinics of the Athens Medical Group in the National Vaccination Coverage Plan in Athens and Thessaloniki
Athens, December 18, 2020 – The Athens Medical Group made available to the Ministry of Health special spaces and staff in all the Group’s clinics, in Athens and Thessaloniki, in order to operate as well-organized vaccination centers, thus contributing to the national vaccination plan against the coronavirus pandemic.
Specifically, in the Group’s clinics in Marousi, Psychiko, Dafni, P. Faliro, Peristeri and Thessaloniki – if the offer is accepted – will operate vaccination centers in specially designed areas with the corresponding specialized personnel and in accordance with the instructions of the relevant legislation.
In addition, it is emphasized that the operation of these centers will be carried out within the framework of compliance with the strict safety protocols that the Group’s clinics have established from the very beginning, always prioritizing the safety of visitors, doctors and staff.
This offer will be valid for as long as necessary and is added to a series of actions and initiatives that our Group has undertaken during the pandemic.
It is recalled that in this context, during the first wave of the pandemic, the Group offered the Peristeri Clinic for the care of NonCovid cases, while in the second and most critical wave, it made available to the Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki an entire nursing wing with a capacity of 60 beds, including ICU beds for Non-Covid cases.
Also, wanting to contribute to the de-escalation of the crisis in Northern Greece, it organized and sent an interdisciplinary team of experienced and specialized doctors who are currently strengthening the efforts of the ESY doctors in the care of Covid-19 patients.
Regarding the above offer, the Vice President of the Group, Mr. Christos Apostolopoulos, stated: “We firmly believe that the speed of vaccination in special groups, as well as the general population, will contribute decisively to the fight against the pandemic, to the protection of health, the improvement of the economy and social cohesion, which is why we wish to contribute to this”.
