Your healthcare team

During your stay at the European Interbalkan Medical Center, you will be cared for by a specialised, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who work closely together to provide you with the best possible medical and nursing support.

This team includes:

Attending physician

Responsible for coordinating your overall treatment and monitoring your progress.

Specialist physician

Specialises in your condition and works with your attending physician to develop your treatment plan.

Head nurse / nurse in charge

Works closely with the medical team and ensures that your treatment plan is implemented correctly and consistently.

Nurses

Care for you every day, administer your medication and guide you on care after discharge.

Clinical pharmacist

Monitors your medication and works with the team to ensure that medicines are administered safely and correctly.

Depending on your needs, other specialised professionals may also be involved in your care, such as a dietitian, who provides nutritional support through a special diet, and allied health professionals, such as physiotherapists and technologists.

Discharge

Your attending physician will decide on the day of your discharge from the European Interbalkan Medical Center, inform the nurses and provide the necessary instructions for your recovery.

Discharges are scheduled by 11:00 a.m., unless your attending physician decides to extend your stay for medical reasons.

On that day, you or the person accompanying you will be asked to visit the Patient Accounts Office to settle your financial obligations and collect your discharge documents. If no relative or friend is available to arrange your transport, the hospital staff will assist by calling a taxi.

If your physician considers ambulance transport necessary, please contact the head nurse on your ward to arrange transport in a hospital ambulance.
