The Athens Medical Group provides one of its five nursing units to the Ministry of Health for free
Athens, March 30, 2020 – The Athens Medical Group, with a sense of responsibility towards the criticality of the circumstances and the difficult times that the country is going through, is granting free of charge with immediate effect to the Ministry of Health one of its five nursing units in Athens, specifically the Peristeri Hospital, in order to be placed at the service of the National Health System.
The aim of this offer, which covers the period from today until 1/6/2020 (which will also be an indicative period for the outcome of the health crisis), is to contribute to the release of beds from cases not related to COVID-19 from the reference hospitals of the National Health System. The clinic is fully operational, staffed and ready, while its private patients will be transferred to the other nursing units of the Athens Medical Group.
Peristeri Hospital is currently one of the most modern private clinics in Athens. It has 60 nursing beds (divided into single, double and triple rooms), 6 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 4 operating rooms, is equipped with latest generation biomedical technology, has all specialties and is certified according to ISO 9001:2005. To serve the needs of its patients, it employs 203 full-time and highly trained employees and collaborates with an additional 200 renowned doctors of all specialties.
The amount of the offer is estimated at 3 million euros and is a social contribution of our Group.

Brief description of Peristeri Medical Hospital
Peristeri Medical Hospital began its operation in 2007 with the aim of covering a significant gap in the provision of high-quality health services in Western Athens and today it is one of the five nursing units of the Athens Medical Group in Attica.
It has 60 high-standard nursing beds distributed in single, double and triple rooms, 6 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, and 4 operating rooms.
On average, it receives approximately 17,000 outpatients per year, treats approximately 3,000 inpatients and performs over 1,600 surgeries.
It is equipped with the latest biomedical equipment: CT Scanner, Magnetic Tomography Scanner, Digital Mammography, Ultrasound of the Heart, Vessels, Body, etc.
Operates: microbiological-hematological laboratory, biochemical-immunological laboratory as well as a complete radiodiagnostic department and an endoscopy department. Also, the clinic operates all the necessary departments such as Pathological, Cardiological, Oncological, Pulmonological, Hematological, ENT, Surgical, Urological, Ophthalmological, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesiology & Gastroenterology etc.
The clinic’s human resources consist of 203 full-time and highly trained employees: 42 doctors, 82 nurses, 18 paramedical staff, 39 administrative staff, 11 cleaning staff and 11 support staff.
In addition to the above, the clinic has a network of 200 renowned medical collaborators of all specialties.
The clinic operates and accepts emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has two fully equipped ambulances to serve its patients.
