In May 2025, the state-of-the-art Mobile Medical Unit, staffed by specialised medical and nursing personnel from Athens Medical Group, visited Samos and provided free examinations to more than 300 island residents, carrying out over 2,000 tests and examinations in total.
The free examinations included breast screening (digitised mammography, breast ultrasound and examination by a breast surgeon), cardiac screening (electrocardiogram, cardiac triplex ultrasound and examination by a cardiologist), laboratory tests (complete blood count, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), urea, creatinine, uric acid, cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, SGOT, GPT, gamma-GT, ferritin, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and urinalysis), chest X-rays, vision testing, audiometry and spirometry.
