New European certification for the Trans-Balkan
Thessaloniki 20 -1-2021, A new distinction, with international appeal, for the Interbalkan Medical is the European accreditation- Center of Excellence that the Hospital’s Cardiac Ultrasound Laboratory received, from the European Society of Cardiology and specifically from the cardiovascular imaging branch (EACVI-European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging).
The procedure followed for the granting of the European accreditation included an evaluation of the hospital, following a relevant request submitted by the cardiologist of the Ultrasound Department Dr. Konstantinos Papadopoulos, holder of the European certification (EACVI –TOE Accreditation). The license was granted after a thorough inspection carried out by a special committee, for the quality of the services provided, for the building infrastructure – technological equipment of the laboratory and the scientific level of the cardiologists in charge.
The cardiac ultrasound laboratory of the Inter-Balkan Medical Center, with the heads of the three laboratories (A’-B’-C’) respectively, Dr. Dimitrios Ketikoglou, Dr. Elias Ninio and Dr. Konstantinos Papadopoulos, consists of 3 rooms with modern machines, all with the ability to perform 3D imaging. Transthoracic and transesophageal ultrasounds as well as stress echo are performed daily, covering the entire spectrum of cardiology diseases.
It is the only one in Northern Greece and one of the few in the entire country with this distinction, while at the same time it operates as a training center of the European Society of Cardiology, enabling cardiologists from all over the world to be trained at the Medical Interbalkan, through training grants.
It is worth noting that the laboratory was certified for all three ultrasound techniques performed, transthoracic, transesophageal ultrasound and stressecho, confirming the excellent provision of health services to patients who will trust the Department of Cardiac Ultrasound of the Medical Interbalkan.
